We have a beautiful Blue Grossbeak come to our 2 feeders in the front yard just about every day. The first time I saw it, last year, I wasn't quite sure what it was so I called the Runge Center and described the bird. They were very helpful in identifying it. I knew it wasn't an Indigo Bunting because the "blue" color is different.

Prairie Willows are a native tall shrub. It occurs naturally over a very wide range. It occurs from Texas north through Kansas into Canada. From there it runs east to the Atlantic Ocean.

Great shot! I wondered what those were. Redbuds out in full force here in Kansas City, and Dogwoods halfway opened up. Incredibly early. Keep us posted on new blooms out there at the PGT! Are Prairie Willows a shrub? Tree? Native?
Thanks!
