PGT Birdwalk 2012

Birdwatching
Trying to see a Blue Grosbeak

We had perfect weather today for the PGT Spring bird walk. The final count is not in but we identified about 50 different kinds of birds including several colorful warblers. I especially enjoyed seeing the Blue Grosbeak. We found one in the Ash tree right next to the PGT Visitor Center.

We have a beautiful Blue Grossbeak come to our 2 feeders in the front yard just about every day. The first time I saw it, last year, I wasn’t quite sure what it was so I called the Runge Center and described the bird. They were very helpful in identifying it. I knew it wasn’t an Indigo Bunting because the “blue” color is different.
