Farmhouse Burns Down

The Old Farmhouse at the PGT

On a bitter cold night in 2004 the old farmhouse that my mother lived in burned to the ground. The cause was thought to be a faulty heater. That old building site is where we built the new PGT Center in 2005.

This photo gives me goose bumps. My house has the same footprint ( 1910’s , story and a half, L shaped , different add ons, and different heating systems. Mine is wood, much safer than propane if in the right hands. It was an awful day, so much was lost, the books that turned me on to prairie management.
